IFA 2015 Samsung Press Conference |
Apart from the Note series, the South Korean tech mammoth has no different high-end device lined up for 2016. Hence, the focus has now shifted to handsets earmarked for 2017.
A new report shared via Weibo says Samsung is introducing five high-end Galaxy smartphones next year — the Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Edge, Galaxy Note 7, Galaxy Note 7 Edge and a new series known as Samsung Galaxy X.
The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 7 series can reportedly have two.5K resolution on a Super AMOLED display, complete with RGB sub-pixel arrangement. The brand-new Samsung Galaxy X, on the other hand, is believed to be the “foldable smartphone.” This handset can apparently return with an outstanding 4K show, bundled with diamond PenTile sub-pixel arrangement.
It is worth noting that the South Korean tech giant was earlier reported to be operating on a smartphone codenamed Project valley, which is apparently the folding smartphone. Past rumors did not indicate the discharge timeframe. However, now, citing reports from Korea, Sam Mobile says this device may be launched in 2017.
Furthermore, Galaxy X users will apparently be in a position to fold the handset sort of a pocketbook, which can make it easier to hold around in pockets. Not to forget, Samsung has been awarded many patents with regard to folding technology within the past. The company is believed to use these patents to make the foldable smartphone.
